Motorola Droid Pro Getting Gingerbread
It’s not a secret that most of the Motorola’s Droid line smartphones will be upgraded to Gingerbread. Although they are not the first smartphones getting Gingerbread, it’s nice to see Android 2.3 on board of this much anticipated handset.
It was announced Gingerbread is coming to the Droids, and we thought the handsets with the most powerful features (like the Motorola Droid X or the Droid 2 Global) would come first. Now we learned that the Motorola Droid Pro — one of the most popular smartphones of the company — is getting the update now.

The Droid Pro’s features make it very popular among those who spend much time messaging and in social networking sites. The phone is equipped with a 3.1-inch touchscreen, 8GB internal memory, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of ROM, 5MP camera with dual-LED flash, 1GHz processor, plus hardware QWERTY keyboard located below the screen.
The phone was initially launched with Froyo, and that was good for the handset, because Android 2.2 was welcomed by the users very well. Now the Droid Pro is getting Gingerbread that strengthens this smartphone. The Android 2.3.3 update has a build number 4.5.1-110-VNS-11, and according to many users’ reports, it is downloaded and installed successfully. So nothing prevents you from updating your smartphone’s OS if you are notified of the update’s availability.
