MWC 2012 is on the doorstep. This event is not only about smartphones and tablets, but also about different technological achievements and novelties. We have managed to hear about many devices that will be introduced at the event. We’ll also have surprises promised by Nvidia, and even by Nokia Siemens Networks (it will unveil its Multiflow technology, which will double HSPA+ network’s speed). However, we are interested in another company – Intel. We are particularly curious to learn if the company will launch a new chip dubbed Midfielder and whether Motorola is in deep cooperation with it as we heard or not.
Now Intel has officially announced it will introduce this new chip and the event will show how this company will become a “key supplier” in the mobile market. At the moment its closest partners are Motorola Mobility and China’s Lenovo Group. The latter has managed to launch the Lenovo Racer A Intel-powered smartphone at CES, as to the first one — what we have is just a rumor.
No need for speculations, as MWC 2012 will be held on February 27, so we don’t have to wait long. All our questions will get their answers there. I myself want to know if Intel Midfield has enough performance and if energy/power saving features will be a real competitor to Nvidia with its Tegra 3 chipsets or not.
