Motorola Looking for Volunteers to Test Gingerbread Update for Cliq 2

| February 23, 2012 | 0 Comments

Almost a year ago Motorola was looking for 200 Cliq 2 owners who would like to participate in the testing process of 1.1.30 software update. Once it proved to be successful, the company pushed out the promised update to larger masses. All in all, such a practice is common among all manufacturers and there is nothing surprising. For example, HTC is currently looking for 300 volunteers to test its first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update created for the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE. Anyway, back to Motorola — it is now inviting 1000 users to join them in another update testing process made for the same Cliq 2. But this time this is a larger update, which will bring the phone to version Gingerbread.

Unfortunately no date is mentioned and we even don’t know when the final update will be available. However, if you want to have your own contribution to the process, you must visit Motorola’s support forums and get acquainted with the rules.

No idea whether this handset is popular statewide or not, but I know its domed keyboard caused the interest of many consumers, and most likely many of them got the phone to check out the opportunities of this strange keyboard.
